AMSA Announces 2016 Life Time Achievement and Rookie of the Year Awards to Allied Van Lines Drivers

CHICAGO, March 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Allied Van Lines, Inc., one of the world's largest moving companies, today announced the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA) awarded the prestigious 2016 Life Time Achievement and Rookie of the Year awards to Allied drivers.

Life Time Achievement Award

Robert "Mike" Westfall of Dover, Tenn., was recognized with this prestigious distinction and Mike had previously won the Super Van Operator Award for Household Goods in 2010. Westfall began his career in 1980 and currently drives for Ted R. Sanders Moving and Warehouse, an Allied Agent based in Nashville, TN.. Mike has driven nearly 2.8 million miles in a commercial motor vehicle in his lifetime while not recording a single accident or moving violation. Westfall has won numerous industry awards, including the Allied Driver of the Year Award and the 34-Year Safe Driving Award. He serves as a mentor for new drivers in the industry and actively supports numerous charities, including Homes for Our Troops and the White County Expo for Special Children. Westfall has been part of a husband and wife team, with the love of his live, as he would say Ricki Westfall.

Rookie of the Year Award

Daniel Lobbestael of Farwell, Mich. Lobbestael began his career in 2013 with Morse Moving and Storage, an Allied Agent based in Romulous, MI. He has already driven more than 134,000 miles in a commercial motor vehicle while not recording a single accident or moving violation. Lobbestael, like many drivers started his career working as a helper on the trucks before purchasing his own. He has twice been named an Allied Master Mover, which honors outstanding performance, and won Allied's 2-Year Safe Driving Award.
