We live in a world where there is a lot of talk about diversity. In our attempts to be sensitive and supportive we sometimes forget that there is power in the diverse viewpoints and experiences people have. Being able to think outside the box and come at a problem from a different angle is where innovation occurs.
Our diversity training not only covers topics to create a more culturally aware and psychologically safe environment it also focuses on strengthening individual participants appreciation for their own and their colleagues backgrounds along with strategies and opportunities to improve their interactions and communication with one another.
When participants are given guidance and support to explore issues of diversity together we see deeper conversations and connections develop, increased acceptance and more engagement which leads to healthier, successful and more productive teams.
Our training primarily utilizes experiential activities, discussion and brief didactic based on developmental psychology and cross competency research. This training is led by Dr. Sunitha Chandy, a licensed clinical psychologist with vast experience in group dynamics, cross-cultural communication and team building.
