Self Funding 101

There are many advantages to moving to a self-funded plan. Self-funding is an alternative method of paying for your company’s health and/or dental insurance. The easiest way to understand it is to compare it to the more traditional fully insured program. Insurance is all about the sharing of risk, or uncertainty. Once everything is in place, your self-funded plan works almost exactly like a fully-insured plan.
