AmericanChecked provides access to E-Verify which is an internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that allows employers to verify the employment eligibility of their employees, regardless of citizenship, i.e., verify that any employee is legally authorized to work in the United States. Based on the information provided by the employee on their Form I-9, EVP checks this information electronically against records contained in the DHS and SSA databases. EVP should be used on new hires, only; it cannot be used to screen independent contractors and must be completed within 3 days of hire. Turnaround is instant.
