Online IOP
IOP stands for intensive outpatient program. Intensive means that these programs include more weekly therapy than typically offered with individual counseling. Outpatient means that services are provided outside of a hospital or treatment facility.
Online intensive outpatient programs offer the same services as in-person intensive outpatient programs. The main difference is that online intensive outpatient programs conduct counseling sessions via HIPAA secure videoconferencing while typical IOP programs require you to travel to an on-site location for counseling sessions. Online IOPs also offer individuals digital resources – including CBT lessons and mindfulness exercises.
