Students who achieve the A1 level will have an understanding of basic cell formatting such as merging, applying styles and formatting cells (date, text, percentage, number, etc). In addition, they will be able to sort data using filters, adding layout and security to the spreadsheet. Finally, they will understand the use, logic, and syntax of the most basic Excel functions.
