Dark Leadership: Nefarious Leaders that Threaten U.S. Sovereignty

Dark Leadership is a unique course that bridges psychology, neuroscience, and human behavior to provide a deeper understanding into nefarious leadership. Dark leadership refers to leaders who exhibit unethical or immoral behaviors, often characterized by manipulation, deceit, exploitation, and abuse of power. This course examines leadership and followership dynamics across a range of high risk and non traditional groups, including but not limited to terrorist organizations, cults, gangs, non state actors, authoritarian regimes, white-collar crime and transnational criminal cartels.

The Goal Behind Dark Leadership Training
Our goal is to equip the intelligence community, law enforcement, and similar agencies with the psychological competencies required to recognize, anticipate, and shape the behavior of global and domestic adversaries. There are two goals of this training:
1. Educate: This course was created to fill the void in traditional intelligence tradecraft training to help intelligence officers recognize behavioral patterns and anticipate future movements.
2. Mitigate Risks from Dark Leaders: This course is designed to support strategies that weaken, mitigate, or disrupt the influence of dark leaders across operational, diplomatic, and law enforcement environments.

How Dark Leadership Is Different
Dark Leadership was created by two organizational and leadership psychologists that are former military and federal intelligence officers with 30 years of combined experience. This course is intentionally designed to provide practical and applicable psychological tools for analyzing dark leaders. Students will be exposed to a wide spectrum of dark leaders and criminal networks, enhancing the daily work and strengthening the cross-collaboration of security, defense, and intelligence professionals.

Dark Leadership course equips students to better understand, anticipate, and counter strategies used by high risk dark leaders by integrating real world case studies with evidence based psychological frameworks.
