Insight Global Appoints John Dickson as Chief Information Security Officer

Insight Global today announced the appointment of John Dickson as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In this role, Dickson will oversee the company’s global information security strategy, leading efforts to strengthen resilience, protect critical assets, and enable secure growth for Insight Global and its clients. 

Dickson brings more than 28 years of experience in cybersecurity, technology, and industrial control systems to Insight Global. He most recently served as Vice President and CISO at Colonial Pipeline, where he led strategy and operations for both physical and cyber security across the organization. Prior to Colonial, he served as CISO and Vice President at Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), where he directed cybersecurity and infrastructure practices to support growth through mergers, acquisitions, and new business channels. Earlier in his career, Dickson developed secure solutions for water, wastewater, and intelligent transportation systems at Transdyn / Kapsch TrafficCom.  

Known as a data-driven leader, Dickson is highly respected in the cybersecurity community for fostering strong executive partnerships, driving accountability, and delivering excellence through rigorous security processes and technologies. Outside of his professional achievements, he is active in several industry organizations, including the Gartner CISO and Inspire GeorgiaCISO Coalitions, the FBI CISO Academy Alumni Association, Cloud Security Alliance, and InfraGard. He is also deeply committed to philanthropy, supporting initiatives such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Circle of Care, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and co-founding the St. Paddy O’Pedal Ride to Cure Childhood Cancer.

Dickson resides in the Atlanta area with his wife, Shawn. Outside of work, he is an avid sportscar and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoys fishing and sporting clays.
