Employers provide health insurance for nearly 50% of the U.S. populationi. Many recognize their stake in improving the U.S. healthcare system and are active in exercising it among policy makers, healthcare providers, and insurers. For some employers though, the COVID-19 pandemic revealed unsettling facts about inequities in care, treatment, and mortality experienced by their employees of color. Calls for racial justice now include demands to move further and more quickly toward equity in healthcare.
