Aira. Visual Interpreting as a Workplace Accommodation
Aira is dedicated to changing the world by removing barriers and making it more accessible - providing access to visual information, anytime, anywhere.
Directly from a desktop computer, or using the back camera and an app on a smartphone, we use the latest technologies to connect people who require visual information, with actual humans, highly-trained professionals who provide visual information on demand – describing, reading, explaining, navigating – just about anything, safely and securely.
Aira is a workplace accommodation, a productivity tool, being used to make the full employment lifecycle inclusive. Aira has broad application. Rather than being a task specific accommodation, it is a flexible tool used for a wide variety of things in the workplace. Common uses fall into two categories:
Aira for Talent Acquisition
Making the application through interview process accessible, including support for online forms, interview prep, navigation & travel.
Aira as a Workplace Accommodation
Onboarding to daily work in situ including digital tasks like signing inaccessible forms, using office equipment, reviewing printed material and on-going learning (online, printed materials) to in person tasks like navigating and social distancing at work, during travel and more.
With Aira, your organization makes it possible for people who are blind or have low vision to engage, interact and participate in important, daily activities in the workplace with enhanced independence, on their own terms. Organizations such as Amazon, Bank of America, Salesforce, Target and Vispero are all part of the Aira Employment Network.
