As an Ergonomist, I find that employees in the work environment chase fads, and have done so since the time I was an undergraduate student at Kansas State University. To help put myself through school, I worked several jobs on and around campus. One was in a statewide Cooperative Extension office, which was in charge of all State and County Extension agents and programs in Kansas A particular agent was always chasing the “latest and greatest fad,” and couldn’t understand why her body hurt after she used her mid-1980’s “kneeling chair” all day.
