Simon Mediation uses Transformative Mediation to revolutionize the way people handle conflict. Founder Dan Simon has trained hundreds of mediators and has used this method to transform countless conflicts, saving his clients time, money and stress. After practicing as a business litigation attorney and receiving his MA in Counseling Psychology, Dan began studying and practicing transformative mediation in 1998. He has taught his method in law schools and practiced it with people embroiled in all types of conflict—from corporate law to divorce.
Certified by the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation, Dan received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota School of Law, his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and his B.A., with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley. Dan is a past Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Section, and served for 6 years as a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court’s ADR Ethics Board (responsible for upholding ethical standards of ADR providers). He’s a member of the Board of Directors and also a Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation. Dan maintains the highest possible rating (AV – Preeminent) from Martindale Hubbell and the highest possible rating (10.0 – Superb) on Avvo.com. He divides his time between Los Angeles and Minnesota, and works with corporations and individuals globally.
