By now we all recognize the toll the pandemic has had on our occupational and social lives. We also know that our mental health remains greatly affected by the pressures posed by the pandemic. Many of us did not shy away from resorting to google or experts on what to do to stay sane. Helpful tools of resilience include maintaining a balanced nutritious diet, utilizing technology, evidence-based practices (such as meditation) and finding and maintaining a healthy support system and community. We also acknowledge the significance of developing and maintaining mental skills deemed necessary for resilience such as confidence and optimism, among others. The list goes on and on. But one method that has been proven to work and remains largely unrecognized is the power of music! Yes, it’s time to take out those headphones and jam to your favorite music.
