Happiest Baby is a mission-driven company dedicated to helping parents succeed at their most important job – raising healthy, happy children.

Parenting is one of the greatest joys in life. Loving our children is natural and intuitive but knowing how to parent them is a skill built on experience. Yet modern parents often have little childcare experience and little hands-on help from friends and family. That is a problem because exhaustion and the stress of parenting can trigger a host of serious issues, including marital conflict, breastfeeding failure, accidents, obesity, postpartum depression/anxiety and thousands of infant sleep deaths…each and every year.

That’s where Happiest Baby makes a difference! We develop science-based products, content and services to enhance child well-being and to help solve everyday parenting challenges.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Happiest Baby, Inc. was founded in 2001 by pediatrician and child development specialist, Dr. Harvey Karp, with his wife and business partner, Nina Montée-Karp.

Dr. Karp’s celebrated books/videos, The Happiest Baby on the Block and The Happiest Toddler on the Block, have been translated into over 20 languages and have helped millions of parents around the world. His landmark theories guide parents to understand and nurture their infants and toddlers and relieve many stressful issues, like new-parent exhaustion, infant crying and toddler tantrums. His groundbreaking 5 S’s method (Swaddling, Shushing, Swinging, Sucking and Side position) is standard pediatric practice for soothing fussy babies. Over 3,000 Happiest Baby certified educators have been trained to teach Dr. Karp’s work in hospitals and clinics across America and more than 20 other nations. And, his innovative Happiest Toddler concepts of Toddler-ese, Feeding the Meter, etc., can immediately improve the confidence and emotional resilience of children from 8 months to 5 years of age.

While Dr. Karp’s advice has permeated our culture for the past decade, he recognized the opportunity to further address parents’ everyday challenges by creating a suite of smart solutions using science and technology, beginning with the #1 new parent stress: exhaustion.

SNOO is the first of Happiest Baby’s smart products, invented by Dr. Karp in collaboration with renowned industrial designer, Yves Béhar, Dr. Deb Roy, Director, Laboratory for Social Machines, MIT Media Lab. After 5 years of development and testing with hundreds of babies, SNOO, the world’s first smart sleeper, was born. SNOO takes the principles of the 5 S’s to the next level. It reduces crying, boosts sleep, naturally sleep trains babies and is the world’s first bed to prevent accidental rolling over. That makes SNOO the safest, most effective baby bed ever made.
