With the current surge in unionization not seen in decades, there are younger (generation z), activist employees that want to start a union and control as much of your organization as possible to their benefit. Welcome to the new workplace of 2023! These new activists are different because it’s as if they are from another world in contrast to the owners and managers that they wish to challenge. This older generation has often spent years working their way up the ladder and building a business; not so concerned with union threats. They toiled for years assuming that if they worked hard and paid a fair wage to employees that the organization would grow and they would all benefit in the long run. Union activists sing to a completely different tune. In their brief few years of experience, they now have dreams of taking on the “man” and holding “him” accountable for oppressing workers and not giving them a much bigger piece of the pie.
