Product Overview
Employment Law for California Leaders
Employment Law for California Leaders helps supervisors and managers understand the everyday workplace actions that can create legal risk for the organization.
California leaders operate in a complex employment law environment. A casual comment, inappropriate interview question, inconsistent response to a workplace concern, failure to escalate an issue, or delay in addressing inappropriate behavior can quickly create risk for the company and the individual leader.
This program provides practical, leader-focused employment law training designed to help supervisors recognize common legal pitfalls and respond appropriately. Participants learn about key employment law concepts, California-specific workplace requirements, protected characteristics, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, accommodations, wage and hour awareness, documentation, interviewing risks, performance management, and the importance of timely escalation.
The course uses case studies, “what would you do” scenarios, and real workplace examples to help leaders understand what to do, what not to do, and when to involve HR. The focus is not on turning leaders into legal experts, but on helping them make better decisions, avoid preventable mistakes, and reduce workplace risk.
This program can be customized to reflect an organization’s policies, practices, and legal priorities. A non-California version is also available.
