Press Release

If you’ve worked with me before, you know I’m a big fan… A BIG FAN… of journaling.

Why? Because reflection transforms leaders.

For those of us who are more extroverted, journaling helps move the energy out of our heads and onto the page.

For those who lean toward introversion, it does something equally powerful… it slows the mind down and gives you space to process what’s really happening inside.

Either way, it creates self-awareness.

And as you’ve probably heard me say before:

There’s no such thing as a perfect leader…

But a self-aware leader is about as close to perfect as you’re ever going to get.

So I want to try a small experiment with you for the next few weeks.

Friday Self-Leadership Reflections.

Three simple questions to help you look back on the week and notice how you are growing as a leader.

I find something powerful happens when you move the thoughts in your mind into words.

Here are your first set of:

Friday Self-Leadership Reflections

1. High Point of the Week

Where did you show up as a leader this week in a way you’re proud of? What happened?

2. Wisdom from a Challenge

What leadership challenge did you face this week… and what did it teach you about yourself, the situation, or the people in your care?

3. Possibility

Based on what you learned this week… what kind of leader do you want to practice being next week?

—————

You can answer these questions a few different ways:

• Write them out in your journal

• Talk them through with a friend or teammate, and have your teammate or friend share their answers too

Just try not to do it only in your head. The point of this exercise is to move the thoughts and energy outside of your mind… You have enough to think about and store up in that brilliant noggin of yours!
