Press Release
One of the most important lessons I learned from leading in entertainment and the Competitive Arts world is: Recovery is part of the job.
For the artists. For the athletes.
And… for the Leaders.
But somewhere along the way when we start leading others, it becomes easy to abandon the self-recovery part of the job.
We keep going. We push through. We override the signals. And here’s the truth:
Not recovering… can be selfish.
Because when we’re not grounded… Not rested… Not regulated…
We’re not actually serving the people in our care at our best. And that is poor leadership.
— Here are Your Week 14, 2026 Friday Self-Leadership Reflections:
1. High Point of the Week Where did you choose recovery this week… and what showed you that it made you a better leader?
2. Wisdom from a Challenge Where did you push past your limits this week… and what did that teach you about how you lead when you’re not fully resourced?
3. Possibility How will you intentionally create space for recovery this weekend and next week… so you can lead next week from a more optimal state?
—
Let’s be clear…
There’s a time to operate at your maximum.
But leadership is not about living there.
More often than not… your responsibility is to lead from your optimum.
Just because you can move at 250 miles an hour… Doesn’t mean you should.
— So this weekend…
STFD (Slow the FUN down) Find the pockets or intentional reset. Return to yourself. So that… You can return to the people in your care, ready to serve.
