In the piece, Rizzuti highlights a critical but often overlooked aspect of workforce restructuring: the need to re‑onboard and re‑recruit employees who remain after a reduction in force. • Connecting departmental priorities  to reinforce how each team supports that strategy.
• Holding individual one‑on‑one conversations  to help employees understand their evolving roles and how their skills contribute to new goals.

This intentional communication cadence, she explains, helps employees process the disruption of layoffs while rebuilding clarity, purpose, and engagement. It also reduces survivors’ guilt by helping employees “connect the dots” and understand where they fit going forward.
